Dermaplaning Brisbane

Expert dermablading and dermaplane facials with Taylor.

A precise, manual exfoliation that sweeps away dead surface cells and fine vellus hair — peach fuzz — leaving skin smoother, brighter, and better able to take in skincare. Performed by our senior skin therapist, Taylor, and finished with Korean barrier-repair care.

What Is Dermaplaning?

Also called dermablading. A sterile, medical-grade blade is used to gently clear the very surface of the skin and fine facial hair. There is no downtime. It is often chosen for a polished finish before an event, or as a regular reset for texture and glow.

A Dermaplane Facial at Pearl

Dermaplaning is paired with our Korean facial method — gentle exfoliation, then nourishment and barrier repair.

Smoother skin texture
A fresher, more even-looking complexion
Makeup that sits more cleanly
Better absorption of serums and moisturisers
An immediate, quiet glow

Is It Right for You?

Suitable for most skin types, including sensitive skin, and generally considered appropriate in pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Taylor assesses your skin first.

It is not recommended over active acne or certain inflammatory conditions. If another treatment is a better fit, she will say so.

Dermaplaning, Hydro Glow or a Peel?

Dermaplaning

A handheld blade. Removes dead surface cells and vellus hair. The only one of these three that leaves the skin hair-free and silk-smooth.

Pearl Hydro Glow Facial

Hydradermabrasion: machine exfoliation, extractions and serum infusion. A deep cleanse and hydration — it does not remove vellus hair.

Chemical peels

Acids dissolve the top layer of dead skin. More intensive, often chosen for pigmentation, congestion or uneven tone. Also does not remove vellus hair.

Why Pearl Medispa

Taylor performs each dermaplane facial with sterile technique and a Korean barrier-repair finish, so the skin is not only smoothed — it is settled and supported.

Under our doctors’ guidance, we also work with skin at every life stage, including perimenopausal and menopausal change. Dermaplaning can be a simple glow, or part of a longer plan.

Pairing Treatments

Dermaplaning sits well with hydrating facials, sheet masks, extraction facials and LED. Taylor will recommend what belongs in the same visit — and what should wait.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take?
Typically 30–45 minutes.
Will the hair grow back thicker or darker?
No. Dermaplaning only removes fine vellus hair. It grows back the same colour and texture.
Is there downtime?
No. The skin may look slightly pink for a few hours, then settles.
How often should I have it?
Every three weeks if vellus hair is the concern; every four weeks if you are mainly after exfoliation. Barrier-repair products afterwards are essential — after this, or any aesthetic treatment.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
Yes. Hydrating facials, sheet masks, extractions and LED are common pairings. Taylor will guide the combination for your skin.
