Our medium-depth peels work deeper into the skin to target concerns such as pigmentation, acne, sun damage, and uneven texture.
At Pearl Medispa, we offer two compounded medium-depth peel formulations — the Vitamin A Peel and the Jessner Peel — each with a distinct composition suited to different skin concerns. Vitamin A Peel
A medical-grade, prescription-only peel that activates cell turnover and supports the skin barrier. Applied as a leave-on mask, it’s well tolerated with minimal discomfort and may assist with fine lines, acne, blocked pores, pigmentation, sun damage, and keratosis pilaris. Skin typically shows a temporary yellow tint immediately after application, with mild flaking over the following 3–5 days.
Jessner Peel
A blend of salicylic acid, lactic acid and resorcinol that exfoliates the skin, clears congestion, and supports collagen production. It may assist with acne, blackheads, pigmentation, sun damage, and uneven texture, with a light tingling sensation during application and mild peeling over 3–5 days afterward.
Frequently asked Questions
Most clients experience mild tingling or warmth during application rather than pain. Sensitivity can vary depending on the peel used and individual skin sensitivity.
These peels may not be suitable for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have active skin infections, certain skin conditions, or known sensitivities to peel ingredients. Your therapist will review your skin history during consultation to confirm suitability.
A consultation with our senior skin therapist is required to assess your skin, discuss your concerns and goals, and determine whether the Vitamin A Peel, Jessner Peel, or an alternative treatment is most appropriate.
Some flaking or peeling is common for 3–5 days following treatment. Most clients can resume normal activities, though sun exposure should be avoided and SPF strictly maintained during this time.
This depends on your skin concern and therapist assessment. A series of treatments spaced several weeks apart is often recommended, with maintenance sessions discussed based on your goals.
Avoid active skincare ingredients such as retinol or exfoliants for several days beforehand. Afterward, avoid sun exposure, use recommended skincare, and maintain SPF protection. Your therapist will provide full aftercare instructions.
These peels may assist with the appearance of pigmentation, acne, sun damage, and uneven skin texture. Suitability and expected outcomes are assessed individually during consultation.
Yes, both the Vitamin A Peel and Jessner Peel are compounded formulations, prepared to a specific concentration and combination suited to medium-depth exfoliation. Your therapist will discuss the formulation appropriate for your skin during consultation.
